Perhaps you should visit Newfoundland and see the icebergs. Our Prime Minister Trudeau just spent Easter on Fogo Island.
Enjoyed viewing your trip to York Factory. I beleive the French, about 1696, after attacking much of coastal Nfld, went back to Quebec and then marched 800 miles overland to attack York Factory, if my history reading is correct. Any mention of that at the park there.
Regards
Thanks for the suggestion, Winston. Newfoundland is definitely on my travel list. One day, one day.
I was born thereon (Victoria). Used to love to visit the Aquarium (now no longer there). Parliament Building lights? way cool. Parliament Building’s main gardener became the gardener for our house in Shoal Bay area. Attended St. Michael’s School and University School when each was a boys’ (only) boarding school, and decades before the two of them merged into one. Saw King George VI at Beacon Hill Park. Of course, can never forget Butchart Gardens, or the ferry boats to Saltspring Island, or salmon fishing in Cowichan Bay.
My google search showed your Map of indigenous groups of BC and I would like to purchase a paper copy to hang on my grand kids wall. Is this possible
Hi Jack, I don’t own the rights to this map, I just shared it here in my blog for educational purposes, so I’m in no position to be selling it, but it comes from UBC via the Ministry of Education via this link: https://guides.library.ubc.ca/aboriginalmaps. I would connect with either UBC or BC’s Ministry of Education to inquire about the author of the map or whether there are printed versions to be purchased somewhere. Good luck!
